Transmissions for Forklifts
Forklift Transmission - Using gear ratios, a gearbox or transmission provides speed and torque conversions from a rotating power source to another equipment. The term transmission means the entire drive train, together with the clutch, final drive shafts, differential, gearbox and prop shaft. Transmissions are most commonly used in vehicles. The transmission alters the output of the internal combustion engine to be able to drive the wheels. These engines should work at a high rate of rotational speed, something that is not suitable for stopping, starting or slower travel. The transmission raises torque in the process of reducing the higher engine speed to the slower wheel speed.
