Cascade Attachments - Cascade Manufacturing Company was established in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943. They started out as a small machine shop in the beginning employing four individuals. Sales for their initial year of operation amounted to about sixty thousand dollars. The very first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless-steel pipe fittings, valves and other components. Through 5 years of operation, the company had expanded to forty workers and their yearly sales volume had increased to $330,000. Now, Cascade is amongst the top worldwide makers in the material handling industry.
Production and design of the company's initial hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of new business possibilities. Over the last sixty years, the material handling trade has grown into a highly advanced field and Cascade has proudly played a part on this growth. Cascade at present continues to develop as the leader provider of forklift accessories and various associated items. The company feels certain in their skill to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding customer's needs in the future and remaining aggressive in the global market.
In the 1950's, Cascade began designing, manufacturing and selling hydraulic accessories. Manufacturing was completed in the year 1956 on a new facility in order to house all office and plant operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's current headquarters. Subsequent to fifteen years of business, total staff reached 180 workers and sales had reached practically 2.3 million dollars.
The next manufacturing plant was built in the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. 1960 marked Cascade's preliminary transfer into the global world of the material handling industry while the company recognized interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.
In 1964, the company changed its name to the Cascade Corporation. After that in 1965, the company went public with a preliminary offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. Ever since then the company has expanded its manufacturing services throughout the continental USA to the places Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already present plants in Springfield, Ohio and Portland, Oregon. Cascade merchandise are manufactured internationally because of numerous subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a brand new plant was accomplished in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European command center. This plant is made to be the essential customer support centre.
Cascade further expanded their product base in 1996 and 1997 after acquiring 5 companies, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the worldwide best in forks.
