Cascade Clamps - Established in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company started as a small machine shop employing just 4 people. Overall sales for that initial year totaled 60 thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless steel valves, pipe fittings and various components. During 5 years of operation, the business had expanded to forty workers and their annual sales volume had risen to $330,000. Nowadays, Cascade is amongst the top international makers within the material handling trade.
Production and design of the company's initial hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of better business opportunities. Over the past sixty years, the material handling trade has grown into a very sophisticated field and Cascade has proudly performed a part on this improvement. Cascade presently continues to develop as the premier provider of forklift accessories and different associated items. The company feels certain in their capability in order to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding buyer's needs in the future and remaining competitive within the international market.
In the 1950's, Cascade began designing, making and promoting hydraulic accessories. Construction was done in 1956 on a new office to be able to house all the office and plant operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's present center of operations. Subsequent to fifteen years of business, total staff reached a hundred and eighty staff and sales had reached nearly 2.3 million dollars.
A second production plant was built in 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. nineteen sixty marked Cascade's preliminary move into the global world of the material handling industry when the company recognized interest in England, Australia, and the Netherlands.
In 1964, the company altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. After that in 1965, the business went public with an initial offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Since then the business has expanded its manufacturing facilities throughout the continental US to the places Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already current plants in Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade products are fabricated worldwide due to numerous subsidiary operations. In 1994, a brand new plant was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European command center. This plant is built to be the ultimate customer support centre.
Cascade further expanded their product base in the year 1996 and 1997 after buying 5 firms, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the international leader in forks.
